Privacy Policy for Quick Capture
This Privacy Policy explains how 4CTech, LLC (“4CTech,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the mobile application Quick Capture (the “App”). Quick Capture is a free, local-first capture-and-triage app that helps you save thoughts quickly and process them later.
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Summary
- Your captures, triage destinations (Inbox, Today, Later, Done), and related settings are stored only on your device. We do not upload that content to 4CTech servers.
- The App does not require a user account or login.
- The App is completely free. It has no ads, no in-app purchases, and no subscriptions.
- The App does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs, or other third-party tracking systems in version 1.0.
- Core features work offline. Internet access is used only when you open external links such as this Privacy Policy.
3. Information We Collect and How It Is Used
3.1 Information Stored Only on Your Device
The App stores the following locally on your device (for example, using on-device databases and preferences):
- Capture text you enter or save
- Triage destination / status (Inbox, Today, Later, Done)
- Optional reminder settings and related app preferences
This content is not uploaded to 4CTech servers. If you uninstall the App or clear App data, this local information may be permanently deleted and may not be recoverable.
3.2 Permissions and System Features
- Notifications: Requested only when you turn on a reminder, so we can alert you at the time you chose. Reminder scheduling is handled locally by the device operating system.
- Dictation: If you use the system keyboard’s voice-to-text feature, that dictation is provided by the operating system (for example, Apple), not by a 4CTech service. We do not receive or store your audio; only the resulting text you save as a capture is stored locally in the App.
3.3 Information We Do Not Collect in Version 1.0
- No user accounts or login credentials
- No advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking SDKs
- No deliberate collection of your capture text on 4CTech servers
- No 4CTech cloud sync or backend
- No contact list, precise location, or camera access required for core App features
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. Because Quick Capture keeps your content on-device and does not use advertising, analytics, or purchase SDKs in version 1.0, we do not share your App content with third parties for those purposes.
We may disclose information only as follows, if applicable:
- Legal requirements: If required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
- Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate protections.
5. Third-Party Services
Version 1.0 of the App does not embed third-party advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, or purchase SDKs. If you tap a link that opens this Privacy Policy or another web page, that page is loaded by your device’s browser or an in-app browser, which may process network requests according to that browser’s and the website’s own practices.
The App Store or Google Play may process standard distribution-related information according to Apple’s or Google’s own privacy policies when you download or update the App. That processing is controlled by Apple or Google, not by 4CTech.
6. Data Retention
- Local App data: Retained on your device until you delete it within the App (where available), clear App data, or uninstall the App.
7. Security
Because your captures remain on your device, protecting access to your device (for example, with a screen lock) is the primary way to keep that content private. No method of electronic storage is completely secure.
8. Children’s Privacy
Quick Capture is a general-audience productivity app and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the App, contact us at jim@4ctech.io.
9. Your Choices and Controls
- Local data: Edit, move, or delete captures on your device, or uninstall the App.
- Notifications: Disable reminders in the App or turn off notifications for Quick Capture in system settings.
- Internet: Core App features work without internet access.
10. International Users
The App is offered with a United States orientation. Your capture content stays on your device. If you open this website or other external links, those pages may be served from or processed in the United States or other countries.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date above and post the updated Policy at this location. Continued use of the App after changes become effective means you accept the updated Policy.
